Restoring Dignity to Those Who Feel Abandoned. We are a volunteer-based, non-profit organization that values and empowers our volunteers to help restore hope and dignity to vulnerable adults in our community.
By partnering with us, you will help change the lives of those in our community who desperately need connection. Our opportunities are flexible and require little time commitment. We often don’t realize how much even a brief moment together means to someone who is isolated, hurting, and alone.
Once you give love back through Hands In Service, you will find that the love that you have will be forever changed. It will be broader and deeper because we are made to give it.

Energetic Hands Volunteer
A cleaning-support program for people aged 19-64 who are unable to perform basic household tasks for themselves:
- mobility challenges
- low income
- minimal community support
It is more than cleaning – it is providing connection for people who are alone. Volunteers clean for clients on an ongoing basis once or twice a month. If you are interested in joining this team, please click on the “Volunteer Now” button at the bottom of this page, and ensure you’ve selected the “Energetic Hands” program.
Time commitment: 2-4 hours/month
Food Hamper Driver
Central Okanagan Food Bank hamper delivery is available for individuals that have health or mobility challenges that limit their ability to get to the food bank. Hands In Service Food Bank Drivers deliver food from the food bank to these clients.
Time Commitment: Approximately 2 hours/month on Thursday morning between 10am and 2pm
Fresh Produce Driver
Fresh produce is delivered to those in need each week from June to September. Beautiful bags of produce are delivered free of charge. Pick up is Wednesdays at 12:30 from Helens Acres (2424 Mayer rd) The day before, drivers are given a route with 10 names and client addresses, often it is the same route. Produce is delivered in Hands in Service reusable cloth bags. We ask that after delivery, the driver waits for the individual to empty the bag and then returns the bags to be filled the following week.
Time Commitment: Approximately 2 hours/month on Wednesday between 12:30 and 2:30 pm
Events Volunteer
Are you interested in helping us at an event?
We have various events that we hold each year. There are numerous ways to be involved in the winter with our Touch of Christmas Craft Fair and Gift Wrap. Spring events include Living Salads and our Golf Tournament. Please choose where you would like to be involved on the volunteer application.
